Electrolyte powder packet

An electrolyte powder packet is a dry mix of minerals, often with sugar and flavor, that you stir into water. It is a common format for crews and teams.

An electrolyte powder packet holds dry minerals you stir into a bottle of water. Many crews already use them. Packets need a bottle, water and a step to mix.

One safety manager told JMAR that humidity makes packets clump, so the crew throws them away. That is one person's report, not a test of every brand. Powders are one option next to sports drinks and liquid concentrates. Pick the format your crew will use. For a side-by-side look, read electrolyte drops vs powder packets. Also see electrolyte.
