What is the Hydration Game Plan?
The Hydration Game Plan is JMAR’s program for crews that work hard in heat or cold. It has three steps: CREATE, EDUCATE and ACHIEVE. JMAR works with your safety team on the plan, teaches it onsite, then keeps coaching after the first session.
JMAR’s view is simple. Education works. The more your crew knows about wellness, the more likely each person is to make choices that help their health. JMAR says a proactive approach to heat stress saves lives, reduces worksite injuries and keeps projects running on time.
CREATE: how do we build a plan for our site?
JMAR works with your safety managers or program directors to create a hydration game plan that fuels your crew for the environments they work in. A roofing crew in July and a warehouse team in January need different plans.
Bring your current heat and cold stress plan. JMAR fits the drops and the training into it. See how a crew rolls out the drops for the full rollout.
EDUCATE: what happens in a toolbox talk?
JMAR schedules onsite toolbox talks with fresh, interactive hydration education. Crews learn how to use the electrolytes to fuel and energize the workday. Each talk covers a short list of topics:
- Health tips on nutrition, hydration and sleep (building immunity)
- Healthy lifestyle habits
- Immunity response to stress (mineral depletion)
- What to do at the first sign of symptoms: quick action, quick recovery
Want a script for your own safety meeting? Read the heat toolbox talk guide. It pairs well with a JMAR session.
ACHIEVE: what does ongoing coaching include?
JMAR builds strong relationships by adding value with ongoing hydration and wellness coaching. JMAR checks in as often as needed to review your inventory and to give new trainings when your crew needs them.
JMAR’s coaching aims to inspire staff to focus on their strengths and to help them find the nutrition, relationships, fitness routines and lifestyles that make them feel their best.
What do crews drink between sessions?
Crews use Rapid Restoration Drops, a concentrated liquid electrolyte supplement. They add it to any drink. The program teaches when and how, using only the label’s suggested use. See the usage guidelines for the label text.
