HeatRisk
HeatRisk is a National Weather Service forecast that gives a color and number for heat concern at a location, up to seven days ahead, with advice on who is most at risk.
HeatRisk is an NWS forecast tool. It gives a color and a number that rate the heat concern for a place, and it names the groups most at risk. It runs from today through seven days ahead, so safety managers can plan for a hot week.
HeatRisk looks at how far above normal the temperatures are, the time of year, how long the heat lasts (including warm nights), and CDC heat-health thresholds. NWS notes that HeatRisk is an experimental product and is not supported 24/7. Use it with the heat index and WBGT on site. Early-season heat is a reason to review acclimatization.
